TRANSITION: With gratitude to God for a life well spent, I formally announce the passing away of John REES, a devoted and dedicated member of our Parish. His funeral arrangement is as follow:

Monday 25th @ 4:00pm reception of the body into the Church (BP)
Tuesday 26th @ 10:00am Requiem Mass (BP)

The Word of God

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, refuting error, for correcting and training in Christian life. Through Scripture the man of God is made expert and thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2nd Timothy 3:16-17)

* Do we take time to reflect on the word of God?
* Is our Bible a mere decoration on our book shelves?
* Is our Bible a mere book of recording births and deaths in the family?
* Remember, the word of God is a lamp for our steps, just as a bird cannot fly without wings, we cannot be a true Christian with the word of God.

Sad News: Jack Rees R.I.P.

Some very sad news this evening from Fr. Benedict Koledoye:

"Jack Rees passed on this evening after being fortified with the rites of the Church. His death is our loss but certainly Heaven's gain.

"There will be sacrifice of Holy Mass for the repose of his soul tomorrow [Tuesday] at 8.45am.

"Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

"Jack's funeral will be announced later by his family."

Reflection

When a sparrow builds its nest in the forest it occupies but a single branch. When the deer slakes its thirst at the river it drinks no more than its belly can hold.

LESSON:
(1) We amass material things because our hearts are empty
(2) Spirituality is not knowing what you want but understanding what you do not need.

Apostleship of the Sea
